Nicole Scherzinger on Alan Carr + Try With Me [Music Video Premiere]
Well apparently miracles do happen. Remember how Nicole Scherzinger was on The Graham Norton sometime back, one of the funniest British talkshows EVER, and she managed to be completely boring to the point where it'd be more interesting to watch paint dry for 40-odd minutes? And then I started disliking her intensely after Cheryl-gate.
But imagine my surprise when I watched her interview with Alan Carr. Nicole actually showed personality by the bucketload, and is one of her interviews I actually laughed along with. Part of it could be due to Alan himself, but even he couldn't make Jessie J's interview half interesting. This interview brought me back to PCD days where I actually liked her, and quite a big deal too. So check out Nicole returning to old Nicole in the interview above, where Nicole does a spot-on Britney imitation and then teaching Alan how to yodel.
But the real reason why she jetted off to the UK amidst being a mentor on the US series of X Factor, is that she's got a new single out called Try With Me. The music video premiered some days back, and was shot in a rainforest in Mexico, where the song opens as a beautiful ballad, with Nicole singing angelically over the lush track.. Right before the trashy and cheap dance beats kick in and everything goes to hell. Eh. It should've stayed a ballad, or should've been better produced. It's not a great track either. But Try With Me is the lead single off the re-release of her debut album Killer Love.
Of course, Nicole had to do some singing while in the UK. She hit the X Factor UK to do some singing, where my issue with the song being a ballad for the entire song still stands. It's not embeddable, so check out Nicole still doing a better job of Cher Lloyd singing live on the stage here.

Yes yes let's just get this part out of the way, Katy Perry's Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) is still #1 on the Hot 100, followed by LMFAO's Party Shit Anthem at #2. Now for the more interesting part, Christina Aguilera and Maroon 5 have collected the Airplay Gainer title for their collaboration on Moves Like Jagger, standing strongly at #4. Britney's I Wanna Go rounds out the Top 10 at #10. Rihanna shoots up to #17 with latest single Cheers (Drink To That) while the single is still rising up the ranks on the iTunes chart. Lady Gaga picks up the Digital Gainer Title and You And I skyrockets to #35 on the Hot 100. Lady Antebellum's rather bland single We Owned The Night debuts at #47 while Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson's Don't You Wanna Stay re-enters at #50. Demi Lovato's ballad Skyscraper is starting to make its way up again, rising to #76 this week. They keep tryna make this girl happen: Nicole Scherzinger's new US single Don't Hold Your Breath did really well in the UK, but now being plastered all over VEVO, Scherzinger's landed at #86 on the Hot 100. Colbie Caillat's Brighter Than The Sun finally makes an appearance on the Hot 100, arriving at #90 this week.
Jay Z and Kanye West's collaboration album Battle of the Egos Watch The Throne is still #1 on the Billboard 200, but Adele's 21 picks up the Greatest Gainer at #2 and holds firmly at #2.
LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem is still reigning at #1 on the Hot 100, but Katy Perry is really gaining some serious ground with latest single Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.), peaking at #2 this week with the Airplay Gainer Title. Bad Meets Evil aka Eminem and Royce da 5'9" have a new single out featuring Bruno Mars called Lighters which hops on the trend of singers singing on rapper's tracks at enters the Top 10 at #10 thanks to the Digital Gainer Title. Britney's new tune I Wanna Go is also inching closer to the Top 10, landing just outside at #11 this week. Beyonce's dreary and completely dull ballad Best Thing I Never Had moves up to #19 this week, the first time any of Bey's songs from the 4 era has made it into the Top 20. Rihanna's summer ballad California King Bed shoots up ten spots to #37 this week while Nicole Scherzinger stays firmly at #39 with Right There. Selena Gomez & The Scene's Love You Like A Love Song continues free falling down the chart, landing at #44 this week. But I guess this week's biggest faller is Demi Lovato's Skyscraper. Despite the pop ballad becoming Lovato's highest charting song on the Hot 100 to date at #10, it's slipped all the way to #51 this week. Oof. But it's not all bleak in the pop world as Jennifer Lopez' I'm Into You rises further to #55 despite not having any proper promotion in the States. Avril Lavigne's Smile is entrenched at #80 this week. Making its way up is Adele's Someone Like You, inching up to #85 this week.
Parent album 21 has also regained top spot over on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart. Since her untimely death, Amy Winehouse has seen a massive resurgence in terms of album and single sales, and second album Back to Black re-enters the chart at #9 while first album Frank debuts at #57, actually marking a new peak for the album. Falling out of the Top 10 and at #15 this week is Colbie Caillat's third disc All of You. Christina Perri's debut set Lovestrong skyrockets up the chart at #54 up from #90 the previous week. David Cook continues plummeting down the chart as This Loud Morning falls to #73 this week.
Party Rock Anthem and Pitbull's Give Me Everything have both maintained their first two spots on the Hot 100, but Katy Perry's gaining serious momentum now with Last Friday Night racking up the Airplay Gainer Title. OneRepublic have also stayed dead on at #8 while Demi Lovato's knocks out her highest debut on the Hot 100 so far as Skyscraper arrives at #10. On its way up is I Wanna Go, the third single lifted off Britney's latest disc Femme Fatale, peaking at #13 this week. After peaking at #35 last week, Selena Gomez' lulzy new single Love You Like A Love Song has slipped two spots down to #37 while Nicole Scherzinger's not unpleasant midtempo number Right There rises to #39 this week. The Kelly Clarkson assisted track Don't You Wanna Stay by Jason Aldean has re-arrived at #48. The currently single Jennifer Lopez' current single I'm Into You moves up to #66. Colbie Caillat's album All of You has dropped and album cut What If debuts at #77 while Avril Lavigne's current single Smile rises to a new peak of #80 this week. Adele, fresh off the back of her 7 VMA nominations, has got a new song on the Hot 100 that's not Rolling In The Deep. It's her most recent UK #1 - Someone Like You, re-entering the Hot 100 at #97 after a brief one week stay the week 21 was released.
Blake Shelton's new album Red River Blue bows at #1 over on the Billboard 200 Album Chart while Colbie Caillat's new disc All Of You debuts at #6, mostly due to little hype around the project. Selena Gomez & the Scene's third album When The Sun Goes Down falls to #10 this week. Scotty McCreery's sure got a loyal fanbase with his American Idol Season 10 Highlights disc attaining the Greatest Gainer Title at #20 this week. America really needed a Country American Idol again after all. In its third week out, David Cook's This Loud Morning is plummeting down the chart at #57 this week. This man really needs a mega crossover hit right now, though nothing on This Loud Morning would do it for him though. Adele's iTunes Festival EP has debuted at #62 this week. Avril Lavigne's Goodbye Lullaby album has risen exactly twenty spot to #149 this week.
Simon Cowell and co. have decided it's time to start promotions for his American version of The X Factor, starting with using Cheryl Cole for publicity and to rile up UK audiences even though it's going to be American now, to releasing some teasers like you see in the one above.
While Cheryl's out and about with fellow Girls Aloud member Kimberley Walsh taking a break, it's work work work for Simon, Paula, Nicole and L.A. Reid. However, this teaser wasn't exactly what I was gunning for.
I hated the fact the judges on American Idol's most recent and tenth season were ridiculously nice even if the performances were utter crap. I hated that even I could drink a bowl of alphabet soup and shit out a better commentary than they did most of the time. But what The X Factor US shows me in this teaser is that Simon's being a bitter old hag again. And I can't get over how he said "it's not about me, it's about them [the contestants] this time" and the main star of the clip is without a doubt centered around the harsh British judge. But as he says in the clip, "what else did you expect?"
This teaser doesn't make me want to watch the show for it seems too overly negative, except for Nicole shedding crocodile tears for being "moved". So X Factor has rubbed me the wrong way in more ways than one, the Idol judges were a puddle of mush, but rookie show The Voice seemed more genuine to me and nailed the being contructive part instead of being downright annoying and obnoxious.
Pitbull has finally gotten his first #1 single with Give Me Everything rising a spot to reign on the Hot 100, closely followed by Adele's mega smash hit Rolling in the Deep. Katy Perry had the Summer Song of 2010 with California Gurls, and since then, she's now onto her fifth single Last Friday Night (TGIF) which could very well go on to be the Summer Song of 2011, rocketing to #4 this week with the Airplay Gainer Title. Maroon 5's Christina Aguilera assisted track Moves Like Jagger debuts at a shockingly high spot of #8. Impressive. The release of When The Sun Goes Down has boosted its first single, with Selena Gomez & The Scene's platinum-selling hit Who Says hitting a new peak of #21 while Selena's latest single lifted off the album Love You Like A Song debuts at #72 this week. Landing the Digital Gainer Title is Britney Spears, as latest single I Wanna Go vaults up to a brand new peak of #29. Rihanna's California King Bed seems to have stalled at #53, a tad too slow for summer, no? However, Man Down is still headed upwards, rising to #59 this week. Beyonce's Best Thing I Never Had moves upwards as well, hitting #58 this week. Nicole Scherzinger's not doing too bad for herself, as Right There moves to a new peak of #62. While Top 3 smash On The Floor is falling down the chart, JLo's I'm Into You is slowly making its way up, moving to #88 this week.
Over on the Albums Chart, Jill Scott's The Light of the Sun, Bon Iver's album of the same name, and Adele's 21 are at #1, #2 and #3 respectively.
Nicole Scherzinger - Right There live on Graham Norton Show
Only recently did news break that dream snatcher Nicole Scherzinger would be robbing Cheryl Cole of her seat on The X Factor USA, but the former Pussycat Doll was back in the UK for some promotion as her recent single Right There got released. The performance on Graham Norton was noticeably smaller than any she'd done on American Idol or a week earlier, Britain's Got Talent, so instead of all the flowery hairography and choreography to distract you, all focus was on the vocals. And they were mediocre at best. This song, though a nice summery pop jam, definitely does not show off her powerful voice at all.
Oh don't cha wish you could rewind time back in the Doll Domination era.. Anyway. You can check out the entire show below with Tom Hanks and Simon Pegg, and Nicole showed shades of personality but Tom totally steals the show here. Her performance is in part four.
Adele's Rolling In The Deep spends yet another week at #1 while Pitbull fails to nab the top spot for the second week in a row as Give Me Everything gains the Airplay Gainer Title but stays strong at #2. With no promo, Bruno Mars launches into the Top 4 with The Lazy Song making a new peak at #4. OneRepublic's sleeper hit Good Life is heading nowhere but up as it makes a new peak of #16 this week while Jason DeRulo rises a spot to #17 with his latest tune Don't Wanna Go Home. Selena Gomez & The Scene's Who Says sits right outside the Top 30 at #31 while Scotty McCreery's Idol coronation single Love You This Big slips to #35 in its second week out alongside runner up Lauren Alaina who falls to #60 with Like My Mother Does. After making a new peak at #29 last week, Beyonce's Run The World (Girls) falls a sharp drop to #55. Katy Perry's Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) re-enters the Hot 100 at #63 now that it's released as an official single. Rihanna's California King Bed and Man Down are both on the rise as they both make a new peak at #65 and #66 respectively. Album release week, second single Judas, though considered a flop by Gaga's standards, has re-arrived at #78. Beyonce's new rush released single Best Thing I Never Had enters at #84. Girl.. Get yourself together and save this era before 4 becomes flop fodder. Oh wait. It already is. Regardless, 1 + 1 rounds out the Top 90 at #90 this week. All this X Factor USA controversy has paid off for Nicole Scherzinger as Right There moves up six spots to #91. Jennifer Lopez' current single I'm Into You has found its way to the chart again at #96.

Unsurprisingly, Adele has collected another week at #1 with Rolling In The Deep spending yet another week at the top, trailed by Pitbull's new single Give Me Everything, Katy Perry's E.T. and JLo's On The Floor in that order. Lady Gaga has launched back into the Top 10 with The Edge of Glory getting the Digital Gainer title and leaping 11 spots back up to #8 thanks to the American Idol performance. American Idol winner Scotty McCreery however, has debuted right outside the Top 10 at #11 with Love You This Big and runner up Lauren Alaina's Like My Mother Does debuting at the rim of the Top 20 at #20. In just its second week, Jason DeRulo's latest chart assault Don't Wanna Go Home has skyrocketed from #92 to an amazing feat of #18. Ever since Run The World (Girls) debuted on the Hot 100, Beyonce's female-empowering anthem has been heading nowhere but down, but she has actually headed up this time, launching herself to a new peak of #29 while new single 1 + 1 debuts at #57. Glee's Light Up The World debuts at #33, Pretending at #40, For Good at #58, I Love New York/New York New York at #81, and As Long As You're There at #93. Lady Gaga's album tracks You And I and Marry The Night debuting at #36 and #79. Rihanna's on her way up with California King Bed making a new peak of #66 alongside urban single Man Down at #94. Nicole Scherzinger on her second week, and probably last with Right There has fallen 20 spots to #97.
Predictably, Lady Gaga has taken the poll spot with million-selling Born This Way bowing at #1. Scotty McCreery's Idol recordings has been compiled by iTunes and the album debuts at #12 while Lauren Alaina's set debuts at #42. Christina Perri's Lovestrong falls to #32.

Adele manages to secure herself another week atop the Billboard 200 Albums Chart while JLo's Love? falls out of the Top 10 at #12 this week. Christina Perri's debut album Lovestrong is a further 2 spots away at #14 in it's second week out.
Nicole Scherzinger - Right There [Music Video Premiere]
Nicole Scherzinger is now armed with 2 Top 3 solo UK chart hits and a Top 10 solo debut album under her belt and is ready to go again with the release of this third single Right There which also serves as the first single to head into the US. Right There is a total and utter Rihanna What's My Name knock-off, but the thing is, Nicole can dance, which means she can easily outperform Rihanna.
Right There is subtly catchy, but I don't think the video is anything amazing and the 50 Cent feature is so unnecessary.
Big News: Nicole Scherzinger to release single in the US?
Well whaddya know.. All it took was some success with her first two singles and her debut album and Nicole Scherzinger is ready to take on the US again. I'm not too sure about all of this because Killer Love has little to no American appeal, and Scherzinger has chosen to use the forgettable Right There. Oh dear, someone's gonna take a seat when she tries to compete with the likes of Beyonce, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Rihanna or Katy Perry.

Reigning on the UK Singles Chart is Nicole Scherzinger with her recent chart monster Don't Hold Your Breath, and Scherzy did an acoustic session to promote Killer Love. I actually think she did amazing on these acosutic performances. Just sitting down, without all the fancy choreography and pyrotechnics, Scherzinger really proves she's an incredible singer. She nailed Poison and even pulled out the good ole' I Hate The Part from the Doll Domination era. I miss the Pussycat Dolls. A lot. You can check out Poison above and I Hate This Part below.
Nicole Scherzinger - Don't Hold Your Breath live @ T4
She's been everywhere performing her second single Don't Hold Your Breath, but wouldn't she? Nicole Scherzinger finally got her solo hit in the form of Poison last year when it hit the Top 3 on the UK Singles Chart, and Don't Hold Your Breath looks set to do equally well, if not better. Leading the midweeks chart in front of The Wanted's Gold Forever and Adele's Someone Like You, Nicole definitely seems to want to keep that up, and performed it on T4. The usual - gorgeous and pitch-perfect (though there was quite a fair bit of backing track in the chorus and she was using an autotuned mic). Still, it's not like you don't know whether she can sing live or not.

Looking a little tired but still very gorgeous was Nicole Scherzinger on her UK live televised debut of new single Don't Hold Your Breath, following her UK Top 3 hit Poison. The performance was a little lethargic and bland if I'm being completely honest, and I would've much rather watched her dance instead, but her vocals were still pretty much full on so I ain't complaining.
But then she performed Don't Hold Your Breath on Loose Women with more energy and looked even more stunning. Check out both the performance and interview below:
Nicole Scherzinger has been trying for a solo career for so long now that getting a #3 hit in the UK with Poison and then with a new single to boot plus this album cover for her debut album Killer Love, it seems the former Pussycat Dolls frontwoman is finally moving ahead with her solo career in pop music. She looks gorgeous as usual, and it's simple, but I'm hoping she can really have some killer stuff on the album because she does deserve solo success. Nicole Scherzinger - Don't Hold Your Breath [Music Video Premiere]
It's so nice to see things moving forward with Nicole Scherzinger's solo career. After a #3 peak with Poison, she isn't going to let things slow down just yet, with a recent premiere of her new single Don't Hold Your Breath, a radio-friendly pop ditty which should work in her favour. Granted, neither the video or the song is far from groundbreaking, things could be much worse. And she looks incredible in this video, especially with those scenes where there's wind blowing in her hair. This is unlike the oddity of the little catsuit she donned on for Poison. Cute, but no.

At least Europe likes her. Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger has been desperately trying to carve out a career for herself as a solo artist for years now, but she finally got the hit she'd always wanted in the UK when Poison hit #3 following a well-received performance on The X Factor (UK). But of course, now Scherzinger has to prove she isn't a one trick pony and has moved on to her second single Don't Hold Your Breath.
Don't Hold Your Breath is in the same league as Selena Gomez & The Scene's A Year Without Rain & Alesha Dixon's Radio, relatively weak songs if it weren't for the production. It's okay for an album track, but I'm not sure this is the track to firmly put her on the map. Oh well. At least she got one hit from this venture..

Nicole Scherzinger sure isn't taking any chances with Poison, going full on promotion in the UK for her solo single outside of the Pussycat Dolls. Speaking of the Pussycat Dolls, even though the former Burlesque troop were supposedly going back to releasing music next year, featuring four new faces along with Nicole, the future right now seems bleak. If I'm being honest, the Pussycat Dolls were at their greatest with or without Carmit, but they were really strong in the Doll Domination era. And it's obvious Nicole has always been using the Pussycat Dolls as something to fall back on. Now that Miss Scherzinger has scored a UK Top 3 hit, she has apparently quit the group. You know what this means.. Bye bye PCD.
Still, Scherzinger herself has been hard at work, and recently performed Poison at the Jingle Bell Ball. And can I just say, that was phenomenol. It's hands down her best performance of Poison because you could see her focus, and I don't think I've ever seen her work her vocals that hard performing Poison live. Artist Of The Month. (November 2011)
The Power Rangers of British pop, The Saturdays, are returning this year with a more mature sound and image, with the girlband taking a stab at the pop/dance wave with their fourth album On Your Radar's first single Notorious being a total flip in direction in their sound, and was noticeably more clubby compared to their previous singles and albums. They then took things a level further with the complete rave-tastic All Fired Up, which is without a doubt their best single release, not surprising since the track was produced by production powerhouse Xenomania, the machine behind pretty much all of Girls Aloud's discography. The pop five-piece are charging forward with the Christmassy ballad My Heart Takes Over before their album On Your Radar drops November 21st!
