Billboard Update

After a performance on American Idol last week, Katy Perry's managed to come back to the top of the Hot 100, stopping the seemingly unstoppable force that is Adele's Rolling In The Deep, which skyrockets up to #2, getting the Digital Gainer Title. Bruno Mars' latest The Lazy Song flies into the Top 10 at #6 this week while Jennifer Lopez falls closely behind at #7 with On The Floor. Ke$ha's also returned to the Top 10 with Blow hitting #9 this week. Two of the planet's biggest pop stars Britney Spears and Lady Gaga have both been ousted of the Top 10, with Britney's Till The World Ends and Gaga's Judas falling to #11 and #12 respectively. There she goes again. Taking her time up the chart is Jessie J as Price Tag moves up one spot to #23 this week. Selena Gomez has vaulted back into the Top 30 with Who Says hitting one spot away from its' peak position of #24 so far. Beyonce's new single Girls has sneaked its way into the Hot 100, entering at #33. Adele's gorgeous Turning Tables has finally made its way into the Hot 100 at #63 while Glee's covered version debuts at #66, along with another track they covered last week on the show, All By Myself at #87. OneRepublic close in on the Top 80 as Good Life sits 2 places outside at #92. Colbie Caillat refuses to budge with I Do at #97 while Jennifer Lopez' new promo single Papi debuts at #99.

Getting the Greatest Gainer title is Adele over on the albums chart as #21 remains at #1. I think this could really be the album that will launch her to a bona fide superstar. Glee's new unnecessary album of The Warblers debuts at #2 while Britney slides back into the Top 5 as Femme Fatale rises a spot to #5. Jennifer Hudson's new album I Remember Me is sliding down the chart quickly as Hudson falls to #39 only in its fifth week out. Jessie J is heading the other way on the albums chart, with Who You Are plummeting to #42 in its second week of release. Miranda Cosgrove makes a reappearance on the chart at #134 this week with High Maintainence.

Surprise surprise. Guess who's #1 on the Hot 100 still? Yup, Born This Way still reigns over the Hot 100, with Katy Perry's new offering E.T. quickly gaining some serious steam, peaking at #2 while Rihanna rises to #3 again with the Airplay Gainer Title. After scoring another Top 10 hit a couple weeks ago with their cover of Teenage Dream, Glee has done it again, debuting at #6 with Loser Like Me. The Glee effect continues with Get it Right at #16, Raise Your Glass at #36, Blackbird at #37, Misery at #52, Hell To The No at #53 and Candles at #71. Unfortunately, Jennifer Lopez' On The Floor has taken quite a fall, falling to #13 this week. Hmmm, time for some much-deserved promo, J.Lo? Oof. In it's third week out, Britney's Till The World Ends dips from #9 to a shocking #23, while Selena Gomez & The Scene debut right behind at #24 with Who Says. Jessie J moves up a little again with Price Tag making a new peak at #54. How about a performance on American Idol then? Jennifer Hudson makes a move up to #89 with Where You At. Expect that to move even further up with album release week and a promotional spot on Idol. Christina Perri's melodic new single Arms debuts at #94 this week. Miranda Cosgrove's current single Dancing Crazy debuts right at the rim of the Hot 100 at #100.

Over on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart, Adele rises again to take poll spot with 21 right at the top while Avril Lavigne's Goodbye Lullaby falls three spots to #7. Miranda Cosgrove's new EP High Maintainence debuts at an unimpressive #34. After a performance on American Idol, Season 9's Lee DeWyze is back on the charts with Live It Up re-entering at #96.

Miranda Cosgrove - Dancing Crazy live on Ellen

Miranda Cosgrove was recently on the Ellen Show to plug her new High Maintainence EP and performed Dancing Crazy. Personally while I don't think Danciing Crazy will even chart, let alone become a hit, that performance was surprisingly okay because I previously thought she was crap live. But then it just got awkward when two random hyperactive dancers ran on stage to do some lame choreography. Then she took the awkwardness a step further by inviting Greyson Chance, who she's touring with, to perform with her on the bridge and last chorus.

It just felt like I was watching an older sister dance around and sing with her little brother. Uhh.. That was totally unnecessary but it's Ellen show, she'll let Greyson perform whenever he can.

Miranda Cosgrove - Dancing Crazy [Music Video Premiere]

I'm not deny the catchiness of this song. I'm also not going to deny this wasn't as great as Kissin' U. I'm also not going to deny the video was bland, boring, and just alright to be honest.

Miranda Cosgrove live on The Today Show

Teen star Miranda Cosgrove on the Today Show to plug her new single Dancing Crazy and the upcoming mini-album High Maintanance. At first listen, Dancing Crazy is a complete What the Hell-knockoff, but it is co-written by Avril Lavigne after all. If I'm being completely honest, it's fun, it's young, it's free-spirited.. But it's not as surprisingly good as Kissin' U, the severely underpromoted radio-friendly song that put Miranda on the map as a music star. Make no mistake, it's catchy, but it's not great or in your face like What The Hell.

I've decided not to post the album cover because all the others floating around on the net are of horrid quality and if you want one, you can get it anywhere anyway.

Katy Perry may still be on top of the Hot 100 with California Gurls again this week, but this isn't going to last. Apparently, it'll slip to #2 next week while this week's #2 Love The Way You Lie, Rihanna and Eminem's collaboration will take top spot. Jason DeRulo rounds out the Top 10 this week with Ridin' Solo. Ke$ha and Lady Gaga are stuck together again with Your Love Is My Drug and Alejandro at #12 and #13. Colbie Caillat's I Never Told You is still climbing up, hitting a new peak of #48 this week. Selena Gomez & The Scene's Round And Round continues to slip, falling to #53 this week. Ne-Yo's Beautiful Monster hits a new peak of #56 this week. Surprisingly, Christina Perri's debut single Jar of Hearts is also another single that's climbing the charts as the track hits #58 this week. Sara Bareilles' snazzy new single King of Anything however, falls to #63 this week. Another single on the rise is OneRepublic's Secrets, hitting #70 this week. Adam Lambert and P!nk's If I Had You and Glitter In The Air are at #73 and #74 respectively. Miranda Cosgrove's Kissin' U is also getting back on track, hitting #82 this week. Katy Perry's summer anthem racks up another week at #1 on the Hot 100, once again holding off Eminem and Rihanna's Love The Way You Lie. Jason DeRulo's Ridin' Solo hits a new peak of #9 this week. Ke$ha's Your Love Is My Drug seems to always be stuck with Lady Gaga's Alejandro, with both songs at #11 and #12 respectively. No fear for Ke$ha fans though, Take It Off will be the new single. Justin Bieber's latest Somebody To Love creeps up to #15. Alicia Keys' Un-Thinkable (I'm Ready) is back on its way up, moving up to #24 this week. Carrie Underwood's Undo It also moves up and hits #27 this week. Selena Gomez & The Scene's latest release Round And Round falls 24 spots down to #48 this week. Sara Bareilles' sassy new single King of Anything hits a new peak at #51 this week. Colbie Caillat's single I Never Told You is another creeper, hitting a new peak #56 this week. After a stunning performance of Beautiful Monster at So You Think You Can Dance, Ne-Yo's new single breaks the Top 60 this week sitting at #60. A newcomer Christina Perri breaks the Hot 100 with the raw ballad Jar of Hearts, which shot to the Top 10 of the iTunes chart after being featured on So You Think You Can Dance and it has reportedly sold 47, 500 copies, debuting at #63. P!nk's Glitter In The Air is going up once again, hitting #75 this week while Lady Antebellum's Our Kind of Love enters the Top 80 at #80. OneRepublic's latest single Secrets re-enters the charts at #83. Adam Lambert's If I Had You moves up to #85 thanks to digital downloads. After a relatively short chart run with radio-friendly single Kissin' U, Miranda Cosgrove's catchy pop/rock number moves back up to #88 after re-entering the chart last week.

On the Billboard 200 albums chart, Eminem hogs the top spot with his latest album Recovery while The Twilight Saga: Eclipse's soundtrack flys to #3 the movie itself opened at #1 at the box office. In its second week out, Miley Cyrus' Can't Be Tamed falls to #9. Alicia Keys' The Element of Freedom goes back up to #27. In its fourth week out, Christina Aguilera's Bionic falls 10 more spots down to #32 this week.

Katy Perry holds on to the top spot on the Hot 100 for yet another week trailed behind by Eminem and Rihanna's collaboration for Love The Way You Lie. Ke$ha's Your Love Is My Drug drops to #8 and Lady Gaga's Alejandro falls to #9 while Jason DeRulo's latest single Ridin' Solo shoots up to #10, making it his third consecutive Top 10 hit on the Hot 100. With the release of her new album Can't Be Tamed, Miley Cyrus' lead single and title track jumps back into the Top 20, sitting at #18 this week. Teen pop sensations Selena Gomez & The Scene's Round & Round debuts at #24, making it her highest charting single on the Hot 100 yet, while the other teenage sensation Justin Bieber's latest single Somebody To Love moves up to #25. Colbie Caillat's I Never Told You keeps inching its way up, rising to #58 this week, trailed behind by Sara Bareilles' snazzy new single King of Anything which debuts at #59. Ne-Yo's brand new single Beautiful Monster falls down one spot to #65. Remember one of the songs on Miley Cyrus' new album Can't Be Tamed I singled out to be a stand out ballad? Guess what, the stand out ballad Stay debuts at #75 this week thanks to digital downloads. Miranda Cosgrove's teen-friendly pop/rock debut single as a proper recording artist Kissin' U re-enters at #93 while Adam Lambert's latest single If I Had You debuts at #94.

On the Billboard 200 albums chart, Eminem sells well over 750, 000 copies of Recovery, which lands him a spot at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Miley Cyrus' latest album Can't Be Tamed debuts at #3, selling a meagre 102, 000 copies in its first week. (Anyone remember the disappointing album sales of Christina Aguilera's Bionic and she's been trying hard to keep afloat? Careful, Miley). Speaking of Bionic, which has been on the chart for a third week now, it hasn't just slipped out of the Top 10, it's slipped out of the Top 20 altogether, holding unsteadily at #22. Round And Round, Selena Gomez & The Scene's lead single from their upcoming sophomore album might not be available on their debut album, but it seems Kiss & Tell is seeing the effects of Round And Round hitting #118 up from #152 the previous week. After I feared that Charice's debut international album Charice would fall of the charts this week after slipping all the way to #173 last week, she has rebounded back at #139 this week. After Katy Perry's domination on the Hot 100, it's not surprising her debut album has found its way back in the chart, re-entering at #175.

Katy Perry's California Gurls isn't going anywhere it seems, remaining at top spot, apparently shifting another 300, 000 plus copies and almost hitting double platinum status with total sales standing at 1,808,000 while getting the Airplay Gainer title. Ke$ha falls one spot again this week to #6 with Your Love Is My Drug, while Lady Gaga also drops, down two spots to #7. Jason DeRulo's creeping up the charts with Ridin' Solo sittin' proudly at #16. Alicia Keys sits nicely at #21 with Un-Thinkable (I'm Ready) and it's also a new peak for the song. Right before the release week of Miley Cyrus' hyped-up new album Can't Be Tamed, the title track, which also serves as the lead single, moves up back to #22. Also steadily climbing up the charts is Justin Bieber with his latest single Somebody To Love hitting #33 this week. Shakira's FIFA World Cup theme song Waka Waka (This Time For Africa) is surprisingly making itself out to be a hit, battling its way up to #38 after debuting at #43 last week. Colbie Caillat's I Never Told You is slowly inching its way up the charts again as it moves up to #60 this week. P!nk's Glitter In The Air is also making its way up, moving up to #76. Lady Antebellum's Our Kind Of Love finds its way back to #94.

As we all know by now, Canadian rapper Drake's new album is a huge commercial success, and it's one of the biggest opening numbers for an album this year so far, debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The soundtrack to The Twilight Saga: Eclipse slips to #6, trailed behind by Justin Bieber's My World 2.0 and Lady Antebellum's Need You Now at #6 and #7 repectively. Miranda Cosgrove and Adam Lambert's debut albums Sparks Fly and For Your Entertainment repectively are holding up at #109 and #110 respectively. Charice's self-titled international debut seems to slipping as well, falling yet again to #173. Sitting rather unsteadily right at the bottom, the Hannah Montana: The Movie soundtrack dips to #200 although it's been released for quite awhile now.

Katy Perry takes over the Hot 100 with her new summer jam California Gurls featuring Snoop Dogg, not surprising since a) she's Katy Perry b) California Gurls is a summer song (read: will never sound dated). Miley Cyrus' Can't Be Tamed falls again, dropping to #22 this week. Carrie Underwood's latest single Undo It stays put at #25 and so does Alicia Keys with Un-Thinkable (I'm Ready) at #29. Colbie Caillat's rises again with I Never Told You peaking at #62 this week. Lee DeWyze is dropping like a rock as Beautiful Day, Hallelujah, Falling Slowly (with Crystal Bowersox) dips to #72, #76 and #80 respectively while there is absolutely no sign of Crystal on the Hot 100. P!nk's Glitter In The Air returns to the Hot 100 at #92.

Usher continues to storm the Hot 100 with the will.i.am collaboration OMG at #1 for yet another week, trailed behind by Katy Perry's collaboration with Snoop Dogg California Gurls. Ke$ha has been in Japan recently promoting her music there while Your Love Is My Drug becomes her second single to hit the top 5 on the Hot 100, peaking at #4 this week. Lady Gaga stays put at #6 with Alejandro. The Black Eyed Peas' Rock That Body moves up and peaks at #16 this week. Miley Cyrus' Can't Be Tamed falls 10 places to #18 this week, but with more promotion, I'm sure Cyrus' single will start climbing again. Lee DeWyze's coronation single Beautiful Day, a cover of the U2 classic, lands him at #24, noticeably much lower compared to last season's winner Kris Allen with his coronation song No Boundaries which peaked at #11 last year. He also places a cover of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah at #44 and The Boxer at #88. Carrie Underwood's Undo It shoots up to #25 up from #59 last week thanks to that performance on the American Idol Grand Finale. Crystal Bowersox' Idol coronation single Up To The Mountain makes a debut at #57 while Lee's duet with Crystal on Falling Slowly debuts at #66. Christina Aguilera's Not Myself Tonight holds unsteadily at #95.

The Glee cast holds the top spot on Billboard's 200 albums chart in a second consecutive week. The Sex And The City 2 Soundtrack debuts at #13. Carrie Underwood's Play On moves up 11 spots to #24 this week. Miranda Cosgrove's debut album Sparks Fly isn't falling as fast as I thought it initially would, dropping just 2 places from last week to #45 this week. We Are The Fallen's Tear the World Down falls to #160 in its third week, thanks to hardly any promotion.

Lady Gaga's Alejandro leaps over Ke$ha's Your Love Is My Drug at #6 and #7 respectively. Earning herself a Top 10 debut is Miley Cyrus with brand new single Can't Be Tamed, arriving on the Hot 100 at #8. The Black Eyed Peas' Rock That Body sits right outside the Top 20 this week at #21 while Alicia Keys' Un-Thinkable (I'm Ready) enters the Top 30 at #27 this week. Carrie Underwood's Undo It is quickly making its way up the charts, leaping to #59 this week up from #73. Colbie Caillat's I Never Told You reamains at #63 for a second week in a row. Christina Aguilera's Not Myself Tonight falls to #73 this week but the second single WooHoo featuring Nicki Minaj off Bionic debuts at #79, which isn't so bad, I guess. Jason DeRulo's Ridin' Solo returns to the Hot 100 at #84.

Glee bows at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart while Lady Antebellum's Need You Now slips to #6. Charice's debut international album slips to #28 with barely any promotion this week. Thanks to the performance on American Idol, Lady Gaga's lastest single Alejandro leaps to #11 up from #16. The Black Eyed Peas have another hit on their hand it seems, their Idol Gives Back performance obviously hasn't seen the effects wear off yet as they jump to #36 after debuting at #62. Colbie Caillat is still creeping up the charts as I Never Told You climbs up 3 spots to #65 this week. Miranda Cosgrove's Kissin' U is slipping pretty quickly, falling to #91, but then again, with no promotion... Carrie Underwood's current single Undo It returns to the Hot 100 at #95. Usher collects another #1 on the Hot 100, this week with OMG, a song he performed recently on American Idol, but leaped to #1 up from #6 thanks to airplay. Ke$ha stays strong and at its peak of #8 with Your Love Is My Drug. Lady Gaga's Alejandro moves up to #16 and expect it to move up again thanks to an American Idol performance. Timbaland is creeping up the charts as well with the help of Katy Perry, who's If We Ever Meet Again rises and peaks to #37 this week. Two divas see a rise in their latest singles as R&B songstress Alicia Keys' Un-Thinkable (I'm Ready) and Christina Aguilera's Not Myself Tonight moves up to #44 and #46 respectively. Miranda Cosgrove's single Kissin' U flies up the chart to #54 up from #95. Thanks to promotional performances on American Idol, Rock That Body by the Black Eyed Peas and Shakira's Gypsy debut at #62 and #65 respectively. Colbie Caillat's I Never Told You is making its way up the Hot 100 as well, rising to #68 this week. Kelly Clarkson's remains in the bottom-tier of the Hot 100 with her current single All I Ever Wanted, which is unsurprising since Clarkson has been on the road for her All I Ever Wanted and is probably too busy to do any promotion or a music video.

B.o.B. storms the Billboard 200 albums chart as his album arrives at #1 while iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove's debut studio album Sparks Fly debuts at #8. Country trio Sons of Sylvia's debut album Revelation arrives at #32.

Miranda Cosgrove - Sparks Fly

iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove has been signed to Columbia and released her debut single Kissin' U which has already managed to peak at #87 on the Billboard Hot 100. With the album's release, it's without a doubt it's set to rise, or at least stay on the Hot 100 for another week. Sparks Fly is ultimately safe and predictable, and one wonders if she'll ever outdo her Disney peers. Enjoy!

Miranda Cosgrove - Kissin' U (Single Review)

Nickelodeon hasn't managed to produce a star that has managed to compete in the mainstream music industry unlike Disney who has produced chart-topping threats Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez & The Scene, Jonas Brothers and to a stretch, Ashley Tisdale, Jordan Pruitt and Vanaessa Hudgens. Thus Miranda Cosgrove's breakthrough to the music industry is vital to Nickelodeon's place in the music industry. Cosgrove's debut single outside of iCarly and the Nickelodeon machine is Kissin' U, a safe, pop number that's easy on the ears. While Cosgrove is fitting into the pop/rock vibe, if a young pop/rock number is what you want, Disney's Demi Lovato has far more substance.. and range. Kissin' U plays it safe, and should go on to be a moderate hit, but doesn't break any new ground. But at least it works.

B.o.B. tops the Hot 100 with Nothin' On You for the second consecutive week and Rihanna's Rude Boy is entrenched at #2. Ke$ha's Your Love Is My Drug continues its rise as it moves up one rung to hit a new peak of #8 while Lady Gaga's Alejandro rounds out the Top 20. Unsurprisingly, Justin Bieber's collaboration with Sean Kingston on Eenie Meanie moves up the charts yet again, sitting just outside the Top 25 at #26. Expect the song to rise further thanks to the release of the music video just recently. Timbaland's If We Ever Meet Again featuring Katy Perry has already hit the Top 10 in the UK and is rising in the US as the track peaks at #47 this week while Christina Aguilera's new single Not Myself Tonight slips to #49. Thanks to the performing and mentoring stint on American Idol last week, Alicia Keys' new single Un-Thinkable (I'm Ready) peaks at #58 this week. Carrie Underwood's performance on Idol Gives Back coupled with the ACM record-breaking win, current single Temporary Home moves up to #61 after peaking at #41 recently.
