Big News: Listen to a preview of Charice' new single "Before It Explodes"

Couple months ago, I heard Alexandra Burke's demo of Before It Explodes with Bruno Mars. Apparently, Mars wrote the song but Alexandra didn't use it. It's easy to see why, though. It definitely isn't anything special and much to my dismay, Charice has used it for her new album. Above is just a preview of what you can expect to hear on Charice' version.

Girl.. Imma need some better material for someone as talented as Charice, thanks.

Billboard Update

Pop megastar Katy Perry's Teenage Dream has finally dethroned Eminem's single Love The Way You Lie which features Rihanna, slipping to #2 this week while Katy Perry takes over the Hot 100 at #1. Taylor Swift's Mine is on an upward climb this week, moving up to #7 from #9 last week. Also moving up is Ke$ha with her latest single Take It Off. OneRepublic is also on the move up with latest single Secrets entering Top 30 territory, hitting a new peak of #29 this week. Sara Bareilles' brilliant lead single King of Anything from sophomore set Kaleidescope Heart is back at it's peak on the Hot 100 of #51, which is bound to go up during the album release week, which is this week. Daughtry's fantastic new single September hits a new peak of #66 this week. After bouncing back up on her feet, Fantasia's single Bittersweet just kept climbing. However, Bittersweet has lost a little steam, falling to 81 this week after reaching a peak of #81.

Disturbed's Asylum makes a debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart while previous chart topper Katy Perry has slipped to #2 with Teenage Dream while Fantasia's Back To Me, last week's #2, has dropped to #5. After the movie release, the Camp Rock 2 Soundtrack has rebounded up the chart to #9 up from #22 last week. Carrie Underwood also rebounds up to #42 this week, flying up 20 spots up from #62 last week. In anticipation of her Glee premiere, Charice's self-titled international debut album has re-entered the chart at #160 this week.

Billboard Update

Katy Perry holds on to the top spot on the Hot 100 for yet another week trailed behind by Eminem and Rihanna's collaboration for Love The Way You Lie. Ke$ha's Your Love Is My Drug drops to #8 and Lady Gaga's Alejandro falls to #9 while Jason DeRulo's latest single Ridin' Solo shoots up to #10, making it his third consecutive Top 10 hit on the Hot 100. With the release of her new album Can't Be Tamed, Miley Cyrus' lead single and title track jumps back into the Top 20, sitting at #18 this week. Teen pop sensations Selena Gomez & The Scene's Round & Round debuts at #24, making it her highest charting single on the Hot 100 yet, while the other teenage sensation Justin Bieber's latest single Somebody To Love moves up to #25. Colbie Caillat's I Never Told You keeps inching its way up, rising to #58 this week, trailed behind by Sara Bareilles' snazzy new single King of Anything which debuts at #59. Ne-Yo's brand new single Beautiful Monster falls down one spot to #65. Remember one of the songs on Miley Cyrus' new album Can't Be Tamed I singled out to be a stand out ballad? Guess what, the stand out ballad Stay debuts at #75 this week thanks to digital downloads. Miranda Cosgrove's teen-friendly pop/rock debut single as a proper recording artist Kissin' U re-enters at #93 while Adam Lambert's latest single If I Had You debuts at #94.

On the Billboard 200 albums chart, Eminem sells well over 750, 000 copies of Recovery, which lands him a spot at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Miley Cyrus' latest album Can't Be Tamed debuts at #3, selling a meagre 102, 000 copies in its first week. (Anyone remember the disappointing album sales of Christina Aguilera's Bionic and she's been trying hard to keep afloat? Careful, Miley). Speaking of Bionic, which has been on the chart for a third week now, it hasn't just slipped out of the Top 10, it's slipped out of the Top 20 altogether, holding unsteadily at #22. Round And Round, Selena Gomez & The Scene's lead single from their upcoming sophomore album might not be available on their debut album, but it seems Kiss & Tell is seeing the effects of Round And Round hitting #118 up from #152 the previous week. After I feared that Charice's debut international album Charice would fall of the charts this week after slipping all the way to #173 last week, she has rebounded back at #139 this week. After Katy Perry's domination on the Hot 100, it's not surprising her debut album has found its way back in the chart, re-entering at #175.

Billboard Update

Katy Perry's California Gurls isn't going anywhere it seems, remaining at top spot, apparently shifting another 300, 000 plus copies and almost hitting double platinum status with total sales standing at 1,808,000 while getting the Airplay Gainer title. Ke$ha falls one spot again this week to #6 with Your Love Is My Drug, while Lady Gaga also drops, down two spots to #7. Jason DeRulo's creeping up the charts with Ridin' Solo sittin' proudly at #16. Alicia Keys sits nicely at #21 with Un-Thinkable (I'm Ready) and it's also a new peak for the song. Right before the release week of Miley Cyrus' hyped-up new album Can't Be Tamed, the title track, which also serves as the lead single, moves up back to #22. Also steadily climbing up the charts is Justin Bieber with his latest single Somebody To Love hitting #33 this week. Shakira's FIFA World Cup theme song Waka Waka (This Time For Africa) is surprisingly making itself out to be a hit, battling its way up to #38 after debuting at #43 last week. Colbie Caillat's I Never Told You is slowly inching its way up the charts again as it moves up to #60 this week. P!nk's Glitter In The Air is also making its way up, moving up to #76. Lady Antebellum's Our Kind Of Love finds its way back to #94.

As we all know by now, Canadian rapper Drake's new album is a huge commercial success, and it's one of the biggest opening numbers for an album this year so far, debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The soundtrack to The Twilight Saga: Eclipse slips to #6, trailed behind by Justin Bieber's My World 2.0 and Lady Antebellum's Need You Now at #6 and #7 repectively. Miranda Cosgrove and Adam Lambert's debut albums Sparks Fly and For Your Entertainment repectively are holding up at #109 and #110 respectively. Charice's self-titled international debut seems to slipping as well, falling yet again to #173. Sitting rather unsteadily right at the bottom, the Hannah Montana: The Movie soundtrack dips to #200 although it's been released for quite awhile now.

It seems everyone wants to get on the Glee train. Filipino singing sensation Charice, who released her self-titled international album last month, is officially going to appear on the second season of FOX hit show Glee. Apparently, when rumours were flying about Charice' appearance on Glee, it wasn't true. But she decided to audition and had made it in.

Katy Perry's California Gurls continues to dominate the Hot 100 while Ke$ha's Your Love Is My Drug slips 1 place to #5 this week. After the music video premiere, Lady Gaga's Alejandro moves back to its peak at #6. The Black Eyed Peas stay put at #9 with Rock That Body. Jason DeRulo's latest single Ridin' Solo hits its peak at #19, trailed behind by previous single In My Head. Alicia Keys' latest single also makes a move up to #22, along with Carrie Underwood's Undo It, rising to its current peak at #23 while Miley Cyrus' Can't Be Tamed falls 2 spots to #24. Justin Bieber's contribution to The Karate Kid soundtrack featuring star Jaden Smith comes in the form of Never Say Never, which debuts at #33. The 2010 FIFA World Cup's Waka Waka (This Time For Africa) performed by Latin artist Shakira debuts at #44. Usually on album release weeks, the lead single from the album will start picking up digital downloads, but Christina Aguilera's latest studio album Bionic has picked up a higher charting single on the Hot 100 compared to its second single WooHoo featuring female rapper Nicki Minaj, Bionic the title track makes a debut at #66. But it isn't all hopeless for Bionic's lead single Not Myself Tonight, it re-enters at #75, hopefully it starts to go up again now while second single WooHoo re-enters the Hot 100 at #99. Beautiful Monster, Ne-Yo's latest single, also the lead single from his upcoming album debuts at #67. I'm not sure why it's started to go up again, but P!nk's Glitter In The Air is rising the charts again, moving up to #86 this week.

Glee's latest soundtrack bows at #1, beating out The Twilight Saga: Eclipse's soundtrack which arrives at #2. Christina Aguilera's brand new album Bionic bows at #3. Colbie Caillat's Breakthrough returns to the Top 100 as the album moves up to #100. Charice's self-titled debut falls to #156.

Miley Cyrus' Can't Be Tamed falls again, dropping to #22 this week. Carrie Underwood's latest single Undo It stays put at #25 and so does Alicia Keys with Un-Thinkable (I'm Ready) at #29. Usher continues his Hot 100 domination with OMG while last week's #2 Katy Perry's California Gurls slips to #3 despite earning the "Airplay Gainer" title. Earning herself a Top 10 debut is Miley Cyrus with brand new single Can't Be Tamed, arriving on the Hot 100 at #8. Christina Aguilera's Not Myself Tonight falls to #73 this week but the second single WooHoo featuring Nicki Minaj off Bionic debuts at #79, which isn't so bad, I guess. Jason DeRulo's Ridin' Solo returns to the Hot 100 at #84.

Glee bows at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart while Lady Antebellum's Need You Now slips to #6. Charice's debut international album slips to #28 with barely any promotion this week. Charice - Charice (Album Review)

Track Listing:
1. Pyramid (featuring Iyaz)
2. Reset
3. In This Song
4. Nobody's Singing to Me
5. Thank You
6. I Love You
7. In Love So Deep
8. All That I Need to Survive
9. Nothing
10. The Truth Is
11. I Did It for You
12. Note to God

Charice, widely known to be the Internet sensation that got her big break through The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show. However, her international debut album is less than spectacular. Sure, she's got the voice, but the problem is that her album is scattered with a bunch of songs from different eras as songs like Thank You, In This Song, All That I Need To Survive, and basically, all of the album's ballads, are all too cliched. It's songs like I Love You and lead single Pyramid featuring guest rapper Iyaz that lend the album a more urban hue. Her soaring voice lives up to expectations, but she still isn't at Mariah/Celine/Whitney heights yet. Her fellow Pop/R&B artists like Mariah Carey and Leona Lewis have all moved the game on, while Charice is Mariah Carey circa. 1990. While it's not surprising Charice will sell, Mariah shouldn't be too worried about new competition.

Charice - Note To God (Single Review)

Track Listing:
Note To God

What can I say? Okay, so, the first time I heard her, was on the Oprah show and look where she is now. Her first single Note To God that was originally recorded in 2006 by JoJo if you didn't know, is great and has such great lyrics. I think Charice sort of changed it, a little bit too much I think. I loved the original song, but the last note, I know was on-key, but it was a little too try hard. The original version still is the best without a doubt, but I think this song will at least give her a chance to enter the charts and get her well-deserved recognition.
