Big News: So what the hell's up with Jessie James' sophomore album?
If you're wondering what in the world is going on with Jessie James' new music, then you're at the right place. Thank God for Twitter. On her Twitter, Jessie has promised some new music by March. The last news we've heard of Daughter of a Gypsy, her unreleased sophomore album, was its' September 28th release date this year, pushed back from August 24th. That could only be blamed for the album's lead single Boys In The Summer failing to catch on like her label/herself must've hoped would. But of course, I'd blame the label for the lack of promotion. She did play small gigs and visit radio stations though. But that's clearly not enough.
But the very, very last news we heard was Jessie going back into the studio to record more. And she must be still recording, then. Fans are speculating she might be doing Country like she's always wanted to do. Really? Hmmmm. I'm not completely sold on that one, I definitely think she's going to retain a bit of that pop sound in her music.
Also, in the same tweet, the pop/country crooner has said she's shooting for a TV show starting in January next year. Just what it could be, I have genuinely no idea.
And if you've forgotten just how amazingly talented she is, I'd like to remind you that she's not just a pretty face.
Big News: Jessie James' Daughter of a Gypsy pushed back to Spring!
I totally saw this coming. Pop/country star Jessie James often shuffles back and forth with the pop and country genres but has often stuck with the more pop side of country. So she did when she released the lead single Boys In The Summer from her sophomore effort Daughter of a Gypsy which led to a poor showing on the charts. Soon after, all news and release dates for Jessie's album were all pulled from Amazon, Wikipedia etc. and no one knew what was going on. She then tweeted out news she was heading to the studio when the album was supposed to have been finished long before. She has now confirmed that the album won't see the light of day till Spring, which means she will be competing in a very high stakes release year next year. Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Beyonce (could be the end of the year), Mariah Carey, Adam Lambert, David Cook, Kelly Clarkson etc.
Jessie's new video just premiered on VEVO and it's called Dear John. Hmmmm.
But nevertheless, she calls the album a country record "you are going to love". Okay then.
The music video above is for Jessie's Dear John, which since was posted on Jessie James' VEVO account on YouTube, I'm counting on it being an official release instead of some viral video (although it does look like one..) that the label is putting out to maintain at least some interest. She still looks as beautiful as ever, the song's not too bad, but I wish the chorus was just a tad more explosive. Plus, what's the deal with Daughter of a Gypsy anyway?
First came the release date of August 24th for Jessie James' sophomore album Daughter of a Gypsy, which was eventually pushed back almost a whole month to September 28th. Then, a couple weeks ago, all news of Jessie's upcoming sophomore set was removed from sites like Wikipedia and Amazon. Then came Jessie's tweets of going into the studio to write. Remember that Jessie's album was already confirmed to have been completed. By going back into the studio, I think Jessie's label is upset Boys In The Summer didn't do as well as it should have, debuting at #16 on Billboard's Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart and thus have instructed Jessie to return to the studio to record more hits-in-the-making for the album. Oh well. Looks like we have to wait again. Well then, Mercury Records, how about booking more live televised performances for Jessie? Here's another hit gone to waste (Boys In The Summer)..
Big News: Jessie James gives us a new preview of a new music video!
In the above video, pop/country crooner Jessie James gave us a sneak preview of her next video. It's obviously a new single and it's called Dear John but I wish Jessie would stop acting sexy in her videos, it gets just a little annoying. What I suggest is, watch the preview once, then close your eyes and listen to her gorgeous voice while you replay the clip. Sure, she's pretty but don't overdo it please. That being said, Jessie's sophomore album Daughter of a Gypsy will be in stores September 28th!
Big News: Jessie James' "Daughter of a Gypsy" pushed back?
Country/pop star Jessie James' sophomore album Daughter of a Gypsy was tentatively set for a August 24th release but Amazon.com has listed Daughter of a Gypsy to be released September 28th (see HERE). That's almost a month later by the way. I'm not too sure what's going on and as of now, I won't strike off the August release date but Amazon is a very reliable source. I'll keep Jessie as AOTM with Katy Perry this month while Jessie will continue to September if the new date holds through.
Big News: 3 artists to be Augusts' Artist of the Month!
We're already halfway into July and you can expect August to come soon. Instead of putting up a poll where you guys vote for the following month's Artist of the Month, I'll have 3 artists to be August's AOTM all at the same time. First up is R&B/Soul singer Fantasia, who releases Back To Me on 24th of August. Along with Fantasia, Katy Perry and Jessie James will also be featured. All 3 artists will release their respective albums on the same date. Katy's is Teenage Dream and Jessie James' is Daughter of a Gypsy.
Ooh. Pop/country starlet Jessie James has revealed to Beatweek Magazine the title of her upcoming sophomore album. Guess what? I'd have never guessed it. It's Daughter of A Gypsy. I'm intrigued. It's an interesting title and perhaps the album will be a tad darker compared to her self-titled debut? Either way, I'm excited. Apparently, the inspiration for Daughter of A Gypsy came from one of the songs on the album What Am I Here For, which has a line in it that says "Daughter of a gypsy, fourteen different homes" which refers to her upbringing in fourteen different places as they always travelled, "sometimes for no reason at all". The album is scheduled to drop August 24th. By the way, Boys In The Summer has debuted on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart standing at #16 so far. Oh, Katy Perry's smash sophomore album Teenage Dream is scheduled to drop on the same date. If Boys In The Summer is a surprise smash for Jessie, she could be Katy Perry's rival on that date. (Though that's unlikely to happen thanks to little promo).
Pop/Country singer Jessie James' lead single Boys In The Summer for her still-untitled sophomore effort was just released to iTunes yesterday, including the music video. Meanwhile however, on a uStream chat she recently held she said that there's at least one more song that's not done yet and she said the album could drop this August. Meanwhile however, celebrity blogger Perez Hilton has premiered a new ballad from her album called Nothing More To Say.
• Christina Aguilera's putting out a new single already. Serving as Bionic's third single, You Lost Me, co-written by singer/songwriter Sia, it will be released sometime this year but it not known when the release date is. Personally, I think her marketing team is a complete mess. After Not Myself Tonight debuted at #23, they should have capitalized on that success and started promotion already. After barely promoting WooHoo, she's already putting out a new single? And a ballad one at that after Aguilera capitalizing on the electropop concept? Get a new marketing department, Christina. Also, on the UK Albums chart, after debuting at #1, she's made UK chart history by having the biggest drop for a #1 album. By the way, I Hate Boys is set to be her next Aussie single and You Lost Me gets a revamp for Top 40 radio and you can listen to the revamp HERE
• Katy Perry, however, is set to release her second single after the humongous #1 single California Gurls. She should wait till California Gurls has dried up before releasing a new single though. The second single off sophomore effort Teenage Dream will be the title track and again, the release date is unknown. California Gurls is set to take pole position on the UK singles chart, but she's got competition - K'naan's Wavin' Flag and the current chart-topper from Shout For England.
• Selena Gomez & The Scene are ready to release the lead single off their sophomore album that is still untitled. The music video for Round And Round premiered 2 days ago.
• Pop/country starlet Jessie James' summer smash sounds like a direct rival to Katy Perry's California Gurls and it will be digitally released on June 29th. The music video has already been released and critical reception for the single has so far been generally positive.
Jessie James new track: Boys In The Summer (Final Pop Mix)
Everyone's vying for a summer hit this summer, including pop/country singer-songwriter Jessie James with the lead single Boys In The Summer from her upcoming sophomore album to be released by the end of this year. The track previously leaked but what we have here is a final, mastered version of the pop mix and I must admit, the song has grown on me a lot. Jessie has confirmed on her Twitter account that the music video for Boys In The Summer has already been shot and you can check out some behind-the-scenes exclusive sneaks peeks at the video HERE. Enjoy!
Pop/country singer Jessie James' debut album and single were well-received and has been hard at work recording/writing for her sophomore album. She recently announced she's shooting a music video for this song Boys. Boys is a new track which is the first single from the upcoming sophomore album which sounds just in time for summer. In the vein of Wanted, Jessie's new single Boys sounds fantastic, although I have to admit it's not as hard-hitting as Wanted on first listen. I am really excited for the music video and for the rest of the album. This is untagged, enjoy!

Best Album of August '09: Jessie James [Jessie James]
Looks like Jessie James fans ought to be celebrating right now because in the "Best Album Of August '09" where you guys had a month to vote, Jessie James' self-titled debut album has emerged top. In my opinion, she's a phenomenal artist that just needs a number 1 hit to make her more well-known. But otherwise, I simply love her. The new poll for "Best Album Of September '09" is out. Time to vote again!

Artist Of The Month. (November 2011)
The Power Rangers of British pop, The Saturdays, are returning this year with a more mature sound and image, with the girlband taking a stab at the pop/dance wave with their fourth album On Your Radar's first single Notorious being a total flip in direction in their sound, and was noticeably more clubby compared to their previous singles and albums. They then took things a level further with the complete rave-tastic All Fired Up, which is without a doubt their best single release, not surprising since the track was produced by production powerhouse Xenomania, the machine behind pretty much all of Girls Aloud's discography. The pop five-piece are charging forward with the Christmassy ballad My Heart Takes Over before their album On Your Radar drops November 21st!
