Big News: Listen to Allison Iraheta's new material!
Being at the KIIS FM's Idol viewing party gave American Idol Season 8 Top 4 finalist Allison Iraheta an opportunity to debut the new material she's described as grittier and darker compared to the songs on her debut album Just Like You. Video footage has now surfaced and I think she sounds kick ass on both original tracks - Love and Tonight. In fact, Tonight sounds like it'd fit in with what pop music's been all about lately - letting go and being free. Allison obviously slayed both tracks vocally but she definitely needs a good producer to really bring these tracks to life.
Big News: Allison Iraheta shows off new hair and releases teaser!
Gone are the days when American Idol Season 8 finalist Allison Iraheta had to settle for second/third behind Kris Allen and Adam Lambert when it came to album promotion. Dyeing her hair black and getting rid of her signature red locks, it's clear Allison wants to move on from that phase and enter a new one. She went a step further by cutting it a lot more and is now sporting a short, brunette look.
But apart from the new hair, she also teased some new music. She played a snippet of one of the tracks that she'd written lately and it sounds more soulful and left-field of the material she'd been recording under Jive Records. But now that the both of them have got pretty much nothing to do with each other, I'm hoping Allison can now find herself and really bring us some killer material now.
Big News: Allison Iraheta talks new music & going forward
Allison Iraheta is not a red head anymore. *SCREAMS* Nevertheless, Iraheta got rid of the red hair which she has been so associated with in favour of a new brunette do. Her natural hair colour is brunette by the way. Anyway, she was recently snapped on the red carpet of Estilo con Causa 2, where Allison performed.
What I'm most surprised at is Allison's transformation, and it's not just the hair. There's a newfound maturity in that girl and she doesn't trip over her words, get all awkward etc. Which is what many people have been so off-put by. Not me though. But it's nice to see Allison so.. Happy. And positive. With the entire dropped from label bullcrap that surrounded her the second half of the year last year.
Looks like she's really moving forward. She describes the new music as darker, grittier and edgier.
Is it possible to love this girl more? Never thought so, but I stan for her even more now.
Big News: Allison Iraheta parts ways with Jive Records!
The Idol world was set ablaze with rumours that Jive Records dropped the incredibly talented Allison Iraheta as she was no longer listed on the artist roster. More bad news came when her manager Gina Orr was leaving 19 Entertainment to manage fellow Idol contestant (but from a different season) Crystal Bowersox. But the news is now official. Her biggest fangroup Alliholics wrote a really heart-warming post on their site which you can read here. I'm confident Allison will be signed again and emerge stronger as an artist. She's still signed with 19 Entertainment by the way.
Big News: Allison Iraheta treats us to a world premiere of acoustic 'Holiday'!
Pop/rockster Allison Iraheta is currently opening for Adam Lambert's debut tour The Glam Nation Tour in cities all around America. Her debut album Just Like You released last December has since sold an underwhelming 102, 000 copies so far while debut single Friday I'll Be Over U has topped 75, 000 in digital downloads. She's already on her third single Don't Waste The Pretty featuring Orianthi who adds background vocals and some guitar licks. While backstage, Iraheta treated us to a world premiere on her official website of one of the most rocking cuts on her debut, a cover of Dilana's Holiday. This is pretty much the same as the one we heard on Entertainment Weekly but I'm still loving it. Enjoy!
Big News: Allison Iraheta to keep opening for Adam Lambert on the Glam Nation Tour!
All Alliholics rejoice! And Glamberts too. It appears Allison Iraheta is staying on Adam Lambert's Glam Nation Tour after fans took to an online petition persuading Jive Records to let Iraheta continue as Lambert's opener on the tour. the online petition collected about a thousand signatures and it appears it worked! She'll continue to open for Adam till the end of the tour, which is September 21st and you can check out all her dates HERE!
Allison Iraheta new track: Don't Waste The Pretty ft. Orianthi
Allison Iraheta was and still is an American Idol favourite and she is moving on to the release of her third single Don't Waste The Pretty which includes Australian guitarist/singer/songwriter Orianthi adding some new guitar licks and a little background vocals. I love the new version of the song and hopefully radio won't ignore this release. Iraheta will embark on Adam Lambert's Glam Nation Tour which also includes Orianthi will kick off June 4th. Enjoy!
• Kris Allen's new single The Truth featuring Pat Monahan of Train has already been released digitally and he will promote it with a big live performance on the American Idol Grand Finale this May. This has been rumoured for a really long time now but it's finally confirmed.
• Leona Lewis has posted on her Myspace blog that she will be opening for Christina Aguilera on Aguilera's summer tour. Bionic, Aguilera's new album will be released June 8th and will be going on tour almost after. Lewis herself has been preparing herself for her debut tour The Labyrinth Tour which already has confirmed dates in the UK and Ireland. And of course, the North American leg will be shared with Aguilera as said, and you can expect more worldwide dates to be announced for The Labyrinth Tour.
• Allison Iraheta's publicist Gina Orr has confirmed on her Twitter that Don't Waste The Pretty will be Iraheta's upcoming single. Also, her live televised performance of Don't Waste The Pretty will debut on The George Lopez Show which airs next Wednesday, May 19.
• We Are The Fallen are going on a headlining tour to promote the release of their debut album Tear The World Down and according to their official site, are embarking on a European promo tour. Tear The World Down was released on the 11th of May in the US and 10th in the UK.

If your guilty pleasure is pop/rock music, you're about to get a heavy dose of it. Adam Lambert just announced The Glam Nation Tour, and Aussie singer/songwriter/guitarist Orianthi and fellow American Idol alum Allison Iraheta are set to join him.
Previously all we got from One More Reason by Allison Iraheta was a Youtube link. Now we finally have the CD version available for download. One More Reason is featured on Iraheta's Japanese release of her debut album Just Like You. I enjoyed this track very much, and it's similar to Beat Me Up, one of the tracks already on her album, but I can see why this didn't make the original cut. Nevertheless, it's definitely a grower, like most of Allison's songs. Enjoy!

Just today, American Idol 8 finalist Allison Iraheta released her debut album Just Like You in Japan, along with Idol winner Kris Allen, who also released his debut album in Japan today. The bonus track featured on the Japanese version of Just Like You is this song One More Reason. Listen to it: HERE!
Allison Iraheta - Just Like You [Album of The Month for December]
American Idol alum 8 teen rocker has managed to beat R&B crooners Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige and R. Kelly for the best album of December 2009. I know this is rather late, but I wanted to have the next best album of the month for January and February combined since there were only a few releases. Nevertheless, be sure to get Allison's album and her brand new single Scars.
The Black Eyed Peas are unstoppable. Imma Be storms the charts for it's second week, toppling Ke$ha's TiK ToK, which has since slipped to #4. It's not surprising Rihanna collects another hit from Rated R, coming in the form of Rude Boy, jumping to #8 this week. Newcomer Jason DeRulo's current single In My Head slips one spot to round out the top 10. Lady Gaga's Telephone continues its rise, moving up to #12 this week, and while Orianthi remains entrenched at #17 with According To You, Kris Allen's Live Like We're Dying moves up one more spot to #18. Adam Lambert's Whataya Want From Me moves up the Hot 100 this week, to #24. OneRepublic's All The Right Moves is taking a pretty long time to do well, but it's rising right now, this week to #25. Better late than never I guess. Carrie Underwood's second single Temporary Home from latest studio album Play On rises and peaks to #52 this week. Kris Allen's Haiti single Let It Be arrives at the Hot 100 at #63 this week. Miley Cyrus looks set to collect another hit with When I Look At You, rising to #79 this week.
Looks like Sade's still hot on the Billboard 200 albums chart, with Soldier Of Love in its third week at #1, stopping big names like Lady Antebellum and Johnny Cash, which are at #2 and #3 respectively. Interestingly, Mariah Carey's Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel leaps to #66 from #124 last week, since there is currently no hit from Memoirs besides Up Out My Face and Angels Cry, which are singles from Angels Advocate. As mentioned before, Kris Allen sees a leap in album sales as his self-titled debut jumps to #82 up from #154 the last week; while fellow Idol alum Allison Iraheta sees her debut album Just Like You re-enter the charts at #186. Orianthi's album Believe continues it's steady rise as it moves up to #88 this week.
Big News: Allison Iraheta and Kris Allen see healthy gains!
American Idol Season 8 winner Kris Allen and fourth-place finisher Allison Iraheta performed as special guests at the Top 24 results show night of American Idol Season 9 just recently. Allen performed his Haiti single Let It Be and Iraheta performed her brand new single Scars from debut album Just Like You. Kris album sales leaped 66% from last week, shifting just over 7, 000 copies. Allison's sales almost tripled as Just Like You re-entered the Billboard 200 albums chart shifting over 3, 000 copies up from just a thousand the week before. Digital gains also leaped, most notably for Allison as Just Like You leaped by a large amount of 603% and 241% for Kris. Also, Allison has shifted 54, 000 copies of debut single Friday I'll Be Over U and 20, 000 for Scars while Kris shifts 21, 000 for Alright With Me.

There has been nothing but praise for Allison Iraheta, the red-headed teen rocker who finished fourth last season of American Idol who returned to Idol to debut her new single Scars (which is available now!) and you can watch it HERE!

• American Idol Season 8 alum Allison Iraheta will head over to the UK. It's been confirmed the lead single Friday I'll Be Over U from her debut album Just Like You will be released on the 3rd of May. Also, her debut album will be released in Japan 10th of March including the bonus track One More Reason. Plus, she's been booked to perform this Thursday on American Idol (the first live results show for Idol's 9th season), the same day Kris Allen will be performing. Iraheta will be performing her new single Scars.
• Disney teen pop/rock singer has been busy with filming Camp Rock 2, Sonny With A Chance, and has hardly any time to promote her album Here We Go Again which debuted atop the Billboard 200 albums chart. The UK however, will get her album this year, and Remember December will serve as the lead single in the UK and the second single in the US. Remember December will be released 22nd of February in the UK. The album will be released on the March 3rd in the Japan.
• Leona Lewis has kick started promo for her next single I Got You from sophomore record Echo which has hit #1 in the UK. I Got You is currently climbing the charts and the music video premiered just a few days ago.
• The fourth official single from Kelly Clarkson's latest album All I Ever Wanted is confirmed to be the title track and it seems like a good pick and should give Clarkson a boost in record sales.

Artist Of The Month. (November 2011)
The Power Rangers of British pop, The Saturdays, are returning this year with a more mature sound and image, with the girlband taking a stab at the pop/dance wave with their fourth album On Your Radar's first single Notorious being a total flip in direction in their sound, and was noticeably more clubby compared to their previous singles and albums. They then took things a level further with the complete rave-tastic All Fired Up, which is without a doubt their best single release, not surprising since the track was produced by production powerhouse Xenomania, the machine behind pretty much all of Girls Aloud's discography. The pop five-piece are charging forward with the Christmassy ballad My Heart Takes Over before their album On Your Radar drops November 21st!
