Fresh from her BBC Sound of 2011 win, British singer/songwriter Jessie J sat down for a lengthy interview where they discussed pretty much everything - how she got started, how she got signed, how her first label pretty much died on her, and going on a writing trip in America where she co-wrote Party In The USA, Miley Cyrus' smash international hit. BBC got pretty much everything covered and this girl's got a lot riding on her shoulders.
Also during the interview, she mentioned that she intended to send Do It Like A Dude to Rihanna's camp and how she's so thankful her label told her she should kept it for herself and she did. It's currently #5 on the midweeks in the UK. Also, she mentioned that she has turned down writing for Christina Aguilera. Poor, poor Christina. Nevertheless, Jessie will be awarded with the Brits Critics' Choice Award later this year. Also, Jessie (not mentioned in this interview) has recently started work on her submission to Britney's camp.
Also in other Jessie J news, the singer is keen to duet with another British vocal stunner Leona Lewis, on a When You Believe-esque track that Mariah and Whitney did back in the day. Okay.. We'll see.
Back to Jessie J and her BBC interview. She performed Do It Like A Dude, Who You Are and Big White Room, with the latter two performed acoustic.
