On American Idol, it's pretty obvious when you finish as the 1st and 2nd place, you'll almost definitely sign a record deal. However, if you do stand out in the competition, you may just get signed too. Look at Jennifer Hudson, Chris Daughtry (Season 5's highest-selling idol), Kellie Picler, just to name a few, have all signed records and sold albums. And after much speculation, it has also been confirmed that Allison Iraheta, Season 8's fourth place finisher, has also signed a deal. She's under the same label as Kris Allen, Jordin Sparks, and David Archuleta. So far, all 3 idols are working hard on thier albums. So far, Kris has been working with Idol judge Kara DioGuardi and Adam Lambert working with Ryan Tedder. It's not known who Allison is working with, but it's obvious they are all going to be big stars. Ironically, Danny Gokey, the third place finisher, is still unsigned. Oh, and did you realise all 3 who signed deals are the same three that advanced to the Top 13 during the second week of Top 36?
