Lady Gaga - The Fame (Album Review)

Track Listing:
1. Just Dance (featuring Colby O'Donis)
2. Love Game
3. Paparazzi
4. Beautiful, Dirty, Rich
5. Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)
6. Poker Face
7. The Fame
8. Money Honey
9. Again Again
10. Boys, Boys, Boys
11. Brown Eyes
12. Summerboy
13. I Like it Rough

Is Lady Gaga the new Princess Of Pop? She definitely knew how to stand out. Her distinct fashion sense had fans go gaga over her. Her catchy tunes shot to Number 1 (Pokerface and Just Dance). Even the other tracks have a catchy tune and who knows? She might just be the breakout artist of the year for 2008. It did considerably well and I'm sure she's going to have her loyal fans right by her side.

We Are The Fallen - Bury Me Alive (Single Review)

Track Listing:
Bury Me Alive

I don't really listen to hardcore rock, but I definitely won't be able to turn down a good song. And I can't resist American Idol too. So, Carly Smithson regrouped with some of Evanescence's former members. I was definitely excited. And their debut single, definitely will bring Evanescence to mind. Nevertheless, it's a solid hit that Carly's immaculate vocals suit so much. This is what definitely see her doing and hope she makes it big.

Rihanna - Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded (Album Review)

Track Listing:
1. Umbrella" (feat. Jay-Z)
2. Push Up on Me
3. Don't Stop the Music
4. Breakin' Dishes
5. Shut Up and Drive
6. Hate That I Love You (feat. Ne-Yo)
7. Say It
8. Sell Me Candy
9. Lemme Get That
10. Rehab
11. Question Existing
12. Good Girl Gone Bad
13. Cry (UK Bonus Track only)
14. Disturbia
15. Take a Bow
16. If I Never See Your Face Again (Maroon 5 feat. Rihanna)

Let's just say that this was the track that made me sit up and pay attention to Rihanna. Her number 1 smash hit was Umbrella featuring Jay-Z. I'll be truthful and admit I didn't like it that much, and thought it was going to be another boring record that passes us by. But you know what? It was a solid hit. There was much more substance than I thought. It was really not bad. I personally love Good Girl Gone Bad and Rehab. Nice, nice melodies. Real great record. Give it a listen.

The Pussycat Dolls - Hush Hush; Hush Hush (Single Review)

Track Listing:
Hush Hush; Hush Hush

I must say, this was one of my favourite tracks from Doll Domination. It was a slow ballad that was really wonderful, where Nicole's vocals, again, were immaculate. Now reworked, sampling "I Will Survive" from Gloria Gaynor as well, The Pussycat Dolls have remixed the song and has it retitled as "Hush Hush; Hush Hush". I really love the new disco feel of the song and I absolutely adore it.

The Pussycat Dolls - Jai Ho! (Single Review)

Track Listing:
Jai Ho!

I thought this was really cool. Slumdog Millionaire, hands up, those who haven't heard of it. See, even the soundtrack was popular. Jai Ho! was originally performed by A.R. Rahman, but Ron Fair approached The Pussycat Dolls to do an English version of it. I think it's really catchy and wow Nicole's vocals are impeccable on this record. The way she transitions into a high pitch is brilliant. I like that the Dolls did a cover of it, it definitely widened the amount of Jai Ho! fans and also brought The Pussycat Dolls into another league. Great, I really like it.

Charice - Note To God (Single Review)

Track Listing:
Note To God

What can I say? Okay, so, the first time I heard her, was on the Oprah show and look where she is now. Her first single Note To God that was originally recorded in 2006 by JoJo if you didn't know, is great and has such great lyrics. I think Charice sort of changed it, a little bit too much I think. I loved the original song, but the last note, I know was on-key, but it was a little too try hard. The original version still is the best without a doubt, but I think this song will at least give her a chance to enter the charts and get her well-deserved recognition.

Kelly Clarkson - Already Gone (Music Video Premiere)

Track Listing:
Already Gone

I think many of you would be reminded of Halo by Beyonce but don't worry, it is truly indeed Kelly's. Apparently, Kelly recorded the song first, and when Beyonce heard it, she wanted that kind of a track and Halo was produced. Both were produced by Ryan Tedder (he also wrote Battlefield for Jordin Sparks). I kinda like this song, but it's quite monotonous. But this was the track that caught on quite quickly from her latest album All I Ever Wanted. Give it a spin, and I'm sure you'll like it.

Demi Lovato - Here We Go Again (Album Review)

Track Listing:
1. Here We Go Again
2. Solo
3. U Got Nothin' on Me
4. Falling Over Me
5. Quiet
6. Catch Me
7. Every Time You Lie
8. Got Dynamite
9. Stop the World
10. World of Chances
11. Remember December
12. Everything You're Not
13. Gift of a Friend
14. So Far So Great

So, Demi's second album in less than a year. She looks great on the cover, that's for sure, but for the music, I'm not so sure. She's mainly in the teen pop rock kind of category, which will appeal to most Disney and Demi fans, of course. Disney plays it safe. Here's the thing. I'm not sure it was as good as her previous album, Don't Forget, where there were more than just 2 songs that actually caught on the first time I heard it. Highlights on the album would have to be Here We Go Again and Gift Of A Friend. The rest are forgettable, really.

Demi Lovato - Here We Go Again (Single Review)

Track Listing:
Here We Go Again

Here's Demi Lovato at it again. I must say, she quite rushed out the album because her debut album was released only last year, so that's quite fast. I must say that this new single didn't hit me as fast as stuff like Get Back or Don't Forget did. This was just, pretty mundane. As with the rest of the album. I hope she stops rushing albums out and really work hard and produce great music.

Ne-Yo - Miss Independent (Single Review)

Track Listing:
Miss Independent

Now this, is a good dance anthem. Miss Independent was Ne-Yo's second single off his 2008 album Year Of The Gentleman. I heard the lead single Closer, and thought it was decent, but this is better. It's also catchier too. This is the word in dance tracks by the pop male, contemporary artists. This song was designed to please.

Blake Lewis - Sad Song (Single Review)

Track Listing:
Sad Song

Has he gotten a British accent or something? It feels weird. But nevertheless, this is an electronica dance anthem that doesn't show any vocal range or whatsoever. But it is a change however. It's like a male version of Cascada. His second album that will be coming out under Tommy Boy Records should be something Blake Lewis fans should look out for. But you know, this doesn't really stick in your head. I'm not saying it's forgettable, but then again, it isn't really catchy. You're better off listening to Lady Gaga, although he is rather different, and I'll give him props for that.

Mariah Carey - Obsessed (Single Review)

Track Listing:
Obsessed

The above is the music video for Mariah Carey's lead single, Obsesesed from her new album coming out this year, Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel. Some don't like where Mariah's going with her music. From the pop diva to the R&B Queen, that's really a radical change for Mariah. But you know what? This is what keeps her topping the charts and in with the crowd. So far, The Emancipation of Mimi and E=MC² have been very successful and offered a glimpse into her direction of music. She is where she is now, and with Obsessed, it's familiar, but still has a catchy tune. I don't hate it, but I do miss a little bit of the old Mariah. But we'll leave that to Whitney, and we'll let Mariah do her thing. It's really not bad, although I hope she offers something like Bye Bye in her album coming out later this year.

Adam Lambert - Want (Single Review)

Track Listing:
Want

Who can forget Adam Lambert, the runner-up to Kris Allen in the American Idol finale was quite a shock wasn't it? His screaming, his soulful rendition of Mad World, you have to admit Adam was daringly different. His new single Want, okay maybe not so new, he recorded before Idol and was even planning to release an album. Well his new single, Want is not horrible by any measures, but if he didn't take part in Idol and released that album he probably wouldn't be as famous as he is today. He is one of the hottest stars right now. The fans are definitely waiting in anticipation for his debut album. But this track leaked to the internet a while back. And now, we're here to review it. It is, mainstream, sad to say. He didn't really showcase the vocal prowess he had, but the song had a really nice melody and if he spiced things up, I think that'd be great. This song may or may not appear in the album, but this track is good. Check it out.

Avril Lavigne - The Best Damn Thing (Album Review)

Track Listing:
1. Girlfriend
2. I Can Do Better
3. Runaway
4. The Best Damn Thing
5. When You're Gone
6. Everything Back But You
7. Hot
8. Innocence
9. I Don't Have to Try
10. One of Those Girls
11. Contagious
12. Keep Holding On

Avril Lavigne definitely wants to be the 'best damn thing' around. She has grown from angry teenager to classy mid-twenties woman. She still has the punk rocker image there, but she definitely still looks good. I especially want to praise When You're Gone, Innocence, and Keep Holding On. Those are my personal favourites on the album because I really like the melodies of those songs. Avril Lavigne is coming out to really dominate the charts, and I think it well has the ability too. Let's say hardcore punk rock fans of Avril Lavigne will like Girlfriend, but I don't really like it. But she is truly growing as an artist, and I'm sure this album is one of the best damn albums out there.

Jordin Sparks - Battlefield (Single Review)

Track Listing:
Battlefield

I really like Jordin Sparks, her new single Battlefield, from her sophomore album of the same title has a really catchy tune. Really, this features a more mature Jordin Sparks really stepping up her game. The cover of her album is really interesting too. She performed it live on American Idol, and well, she looked really great, might not have sounded too great, but it was okay. This song was written by Ryan Tedder, from One Republic, and I think he did a really good job. I like that Jordin Sparks' Battlefield has a really nice melody and rhythm to it. I really really like it. It sounds cool too.

Vanessa Hudgens - Identified (Album Review)

Track Listing:
1. Last Night

3. First Bad Habit
4. Hook It Up
5. Don't Ask Why
6. Sneakernight
7. Amazed
8. Don't Leave
9. Paper Cut
10. Party On The Moon
11. Did It Ever Cross Your Mind
12. Gone With The Wind

Vanessa Hudgens' second album Identified didn't really impress me. On the cover, she looks a little baby face and distorted, and most of the tracks are rather forgettable. Even the album's lead single Sneakernight is only okay. Another teensy tune that only Vanessa's hardcore fans will love. It's all a bit boring, really. It's nothing like her debut album V, which I happen to prefer by a mile, this is an average album that's absolutely boring and none of the melodies stick to your head except Sneakernight. If you want a teensy album worth the money, go get yourself Ashley Tisdale's Headstrong or Guilty Pleasure.

6. Take a Bow
7. I Will Be
8. Angel
9. Here I Am

13. Footprints in the Sand
14. A Moment Like This
15. Forgive Me (Bonus Track)
16. Misses Glass (Bonus Track)
17. Run (Bonus Track)

After Leona Lewis' win of the X-Factor crown, her debut album Spirit was a raving success and the album's lead single Bleeding Love went on to be a hit globally. Her album was such a success it was re-released as a deluxe edition. All the songs in there is great, ALL, I tell you. I love it so much. You should go down and get yourself a copy if you already haven't. All the tracks have a nice beat and are all worthy of being released as a single, which I believe will do very well. Hannah Montana - Hannah Montana movie soundtrack (Album Review)

Track Listing:
1. You'll Always Find Your Way Back Home
2. Let's Get Crazy
3. The Good Life
4. Everything I Want - Steve Rushton
5. Don't Walk Away
6. Hoedown Throwdown
7. Dream
8. The Climb
9. Butterfly Fly Away - Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus
10. Backwards (Acoustic) - Rascal Flatts
11. Back to Tennessee - Billy Ray Cyrus

13. Bless the Broken Road (Acoustic)- Rascal Flatts
14. Let's Do This
15. Spotlight
16. Game Over
17. What's Not To Like
18. The Best of Both Worlds: 2009 Movie Mix

The Hannah Montana movie soundtrack is surprisingly not bad. Most of the songs anyway. My personal favourites are Backwards, The Climb, Back To Tennesse, Crazier and Bless The Broken Road. The others are just the same, boring teensy-boppers that fail to excite me. It's country that the film should be featuring right? And not the pop thing they're promoting Hannah Montana as. Anyway, I liked that they focused less on Miley Cyrus on the soundtrack and with Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift promoting tracks to the soundtrack. I liked it's overall sound and it is by a clear mile, better than all the other Hannah Montana soundtrack. I could actually see some effort here.

6. Surprise Surprise
7. This Time
8. New Dawn

12. I Got Nothin' Left

16. Skies Of L.A.

Celine Dion's Taking Chances was quite a big hit wasn't it? Well, I liked that very much, but I'm not sure about the whole album. Sorry, but I didn't like any of the tracks in there except Taking Chances, Alone (a Heart original), and A Song For You. The rest was just, unimpactful. I really thought Celine would be able to create better tracks than that, I honestly did. I really didn't enjoy it, sorry. And the American Idol girls do Alone better, it just isn't that special.

Track Listing:

2. Go Ahead
3. Superwoman
4. No One
5. Like You'll Never See Me Again
6. Lesson Learned (featuring John Mayer)
7. Wreckless Love
8. The Thing About Love
9. Teenage Love Affair
10. I Need You
11. Where Do We Go from Here
12. Prelude to a Kiss
13. Tell You Something (Nana's Reprise)
14. Sure Looks Good to Me

So, Alicia Keys' latest album As I Am. I wasn't really impressed. I liked No One the best, the album's lead single, but the others like Teenage Love Affair was okay and rather forgettable, I must say. The others hardly made an impact on me. I felt Superwoman was too long and got boring after a while. I was really disappointed with it. I thought Alicia Keys was better than that. I think No One really eliminated all the other tracks. Thank goodness I didn't waste more money buying the "Super Edition". 1 track(No One) just cannot save the whole album. Really, really disappointed.

5. Let´s Dance
6. Drive
7. Afraid
8. Promise
9. Whatever Will Be
10. Rather Be With You
11. Psychic
12. Lose Your Love

I must say Vanessa's debut album V, was better than I thought. The colour theme was very nice and she looked gorgeous in almost all the pictures. Come Back To Me was the album's lead single. A groovy, fun to dance to song that I felt was a little teensy for me. Say OK, the next single from the album, was better too, and the music video even featured her boyfriend Zac Efron. Almost all the tracks on the album dance anthems, but some slow songs like Drive and Whatever Will Be were really good too. Let's Dance speaks for itself and will definitely get you moving. Overall, it's a fairly okay album which in my opinion was better than her second album Identified.

9. Erase & Rewind

Ashley Tisdale's sophomore album Guilty Pleasure is not really what other people say to be Ashley trying to grow up. Her music has always been like that and is sure to be a hit with teens all round. Her lead single It's Alright, It's OK is really quite decent. My personal favourite definitely is What If. American Idol's Kara DioGuardi wrote the song for Ashley and I must say it's really nice. Right now, It's Alright, It's OK, What If and Time's Up (Deluxe Edition Bonus Track) have found a place in my heart. But other than that, the other tracks are just forgettable unless you're a hardcore Ashley Tisdale fan. Well, give it a listen, you might not want to buy it, and you might. You make the decision. That's a lot of tracks for one album, and Colbie definitely makes it special. This 21 track deluxe edition of Colbie's debut album Coco, includes many new studio recordings and live performances. The one that interests me the most, is Bubbly, the solo acoustic version. That's definitely a delicious track, since Bubbly was such a hit. I wondered how marvellous it would sound acoustic. Here, Carrie's magic sparkle of her voice is carried to Carnival Ride, Carrie's second studio album after Some Hearts in 2005. I must say, her music is good. Flat On The Floor, All-American Girl and Last Name all are catchy tunes. She has really stepped up her game since her win back in 2005 of the American Idol crown. 8. Tell Me Why
9. You're Not Sorry
10. The Way I Loved You
11. Forever & Always
12. The Best Day
13. Change
14. Our Song (Bonus Track)
15. Teardrops On My Guitar (Bonus Track)
16. Should've Said No (Bonus Track)

Well then, it looks like Taylor's all dressed for success in Fearless. The best three songs from her previous album, Taylor Swift also make an appearance here as bonus tracks. Her album's lead single, Love Story, which peaked at #4, which was quite a good effort, only offered a glimpse into her second studio album. That's because all the other tracks are also good. Such as Fearless, White Horse, You Belong With Me, Breathe, and You're Not Sorry. The track that I was drawn to was Breathe, simply because Colbie was in it. Her feel good, soothing voice here more than did the track justice. No wonder Taylor thanked her. In any case, Fearless, which happened to peak at #1, is a good album. I suggest giving it a listen.

JoJo - The High Road (Album Review)

Track Listing:
1. The Way You Do Me
2. Anything
3. This Time
4. Too Little Too Late
5. Let It Rain
6. The High Road
7. Like That
8. Good Ol'
9. Coming For You
10. Exceptional
11. How To Touch A Girl
12. Note To God
13. Do Whatcha Gotta Do (Bonus Track)
14. I Can Take You There (Bonus Track)
15. Too Little Too Late [Spanish Version] (Bonus Track)

JoJo is really very young, but she has mad potential. The High Road's lead single Too Little Too Late featured JoJo's vocal chops and her range really well. She also shows it through other tracks like The High Road, Exceptional, How To Touch A Girl and Note To God. I think she's really an amazing young artist. Her RnB style seperates her from other teen artists like Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, and Vanessa Hudgens. She's also miles ahead of her age. She sings really brilliantly and her albums don't sell on the fact she has a money-making Disney teen show like Hannah Montana called Mojo JoJo. Really, JoJo is one of the best out there for her age, and I really like her albums. She's got a secure future with age-appropriate tracks too. I felt Exceptional and Note To God really meaningful, and her lyrics just speak for themselves. I hope her next album, All I Want Is Everything will be just as good, if not better.

David Cook - David Cook (Album review)

Track Listing:
1. Declaration
2. Heroes
3. Light On
4. Come Back To Me
5. Life On The Moon
6. Bar-ba-sol
7. Mr. Sensitive
8. Lie
9. I Did It For You
10. Avalanche
11. Permanent
12. A Daily Anthem

I must say, this was a pretty decent effort from the seventh season of American Idol, David Cook. His voice has a magic sparkle to it, a gruff, rough, rock-edge kind of voice. And I really like that. His first single Light On, was pretty average, it never topped my favourite songs list, but it did manage to get in. Come Back To Me and Permanent, those were definitely better, and I loved those 2 tracks the most from David's self-titled album. I liked Permanent as David was really emotional in the song, and his vocal chops could clearly be heard, and I liked it very, very much. The rest, well, never really appeared mighty impressive to me, but were all fine songs.

3. Cry
4. Don't Let Me Stop You
5. All I Ever Wanted
6. Already Gone
7. If I Can't Have You

11. Impossible
12. Ready
13. I Want You
14. If No One Will Listen
15. Tip Of My Tongue (Bonus Track)
16. The Day We Fell Apart (Bonus Track)

Wow, really, is the word to sum up the album. It's defininetly colourful, really attractive, and I must say, this album smokes. All I Ever Wanted is the fourth studio album released this year by the original American Idol. She's also the bestselling. I love this album. A lot of the tracks are great the moment you hear it. And the whole album is HOT once you hear all the tracks after a while. Yes, some tracks may take time to grow on you, such as I Do Not Hook Up, Don't Let Me Stop You, If I Can't Have You, Save You, Whyyawannabringmedown, Impossible, Ready, I Want You, and the 2 bonus tracks you see there. Well, the rest are definitely all amazing and you'll definitely love them. My personal favourites are Cry, Long Shot, and If No One Will Listen. Those are my top 3 favourites, but the rest are definitely more than decent. Right now, I'm loving If No One Will Listen. It's a ballad, and it definitely shows Kelly's softer side. The whole album is mighty impressive and you should go get one, if you already haven't.

Kelly Clarkson - I Do Not Hook Up (Single Review)

Track Listing:
I Do Not Hook Up (Single)

Kelly Clarkson, who can forget her mind-blowing performances on Idol? Now, back with her fourth studio album, All I Ever Wanted, which peaked at the Bilboard Charts at #1, her second single doesn't seem to have any lack of substance at all. I Do Not Hook Up is a fun, pop/rock-ish song that's definitely anything but boring. Kelly's mind-blowing pipes can be heard once in the song. She is absolutely brilliant, and I've got to tell you, I didn't really like it that much when I first bought the album, but trust me, it'll grow on you.

Jordin Sparks - Jordin Sparks (Album Review)

Track Listing:
1. Tatoo
2. One Step At A Time
3. No Air (feat. Chris Brown)
4. Freeze
5. Shy Boy
6. Now You Tell Me
7. Next to You
8. Just For The Record
9. Permanent Monday
10. Young And In Love
11. See My Side
12. God Loves Ugly
13. This Is My Now

It's looks like the people at Idol invested quite a sum on young Miss Sparks here, 17 at the time the album was released. They had Jordin do a duet with Chris Brown which was a hit immediately. Tatoo was the first single to be released, it climbed the charts pretty quickly and the catchy tune remained stuck in my head, til I heard One Step At A Time. Then subsequently, No Air. I liked every single track off her debut album. But Freeze, Shy Boy, Now You Tell Me, Young And in Love, See My Side and God Loves Ugly didn't really catch on. But I still loved the album and am so going to buy her sophomore album, Battlefield. This was a great album!
